Message datapoint. The thing to do would really be to build a jig to hold just the diff, lock the halfshaft outputs, then start applying torque to the input shaft. When it shears the pinion teeth, you then know what the max loading on it is. The fact you used an auto gives a much better indication of this point as a 5speed has more shocking loads it puts through the drivetrain. But enough with the technical aspects - thanks for posting this. I was only curious whether or not I should be concerned with breaking mine. I'm not looking to set or break any records, just curious.
